Star Light ,Star Bright~ Silk Scarf by Mystic Silks
"Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might.."
Remember that children's poem from ages ago?
I don't know why, but that poem was running through my mind, and I thought I'd hand design a silk scarf to commemorate that child's poem.
I'm an adult, and every now and then when I look up into a new evening sky I'll see the first star in the sky, and repeat that little ditty.
The silk scarf is designed by using periwinkle blue, and glittering silver french dyes.
Why, heck it almost winks at you!
You can see this silk scarf or many of my other hand designed silk creations at http://mysticsilks.etsy.com/

Gucci, You've Got Competition, by Mystic Silks

Gucci is well known, and does put out some nice silk scarves: But are they individually hand designed? Does a lot of labor intensive love go into those scarves? Does the person designing the scarf, hope with all their heart, that the finished product will thrill and delight the buyer? I just don't think so.
The hand designed silk scarves I create are each unique and beautiful.
And, the price tag on my silk scarves is not $300.00
But, seeing is believing. Come take a look at the array of silk scarves at htttp://mysticsilks.etsy.com
You'll be amazed and pleased.

Hummingbirds--Think Of Spring- by Mystic Silks

When I'm feeling blue, in the middle of the winter blahs, I picture hummingbirds. There is something spiritual and full of spring time in those tiny feathered creatures. They lift my spirits and for a moment in time, I am lost in their beauty. Their colors are various, and vibrant, every good thing about being alive.
They have inspired many of my silk creations.
Here are two that are at my silk shop http://mysticsilks.etsy.com

What is Valentine's Day about? by Mystic Silks

I know we just celebrated the holidays, but it seems that we Americans are all about celebrating; about giving gifts for one reason or another, and, this isn't a bad idea.
Maybe we need these days to remind us of all the people, and all the reasons to celebrate. Besides Valentine's Day helps to chase the winter blahs, and around February it can feel blah, especially if you live in the North Eastern states...............where all the white winter snows have turned to gray slush.
What better pick-up for the spirit then to have a red Valentine card, along with a beautiful hand designed scarf? Unless it's a trip to a warm island--:)
My silk shop at http://mysticsilks.etsy.com/ has many loverly creations to chose from for that perfect Valentine's gift for the women you love.

What's Christmas All about?

I'm sitting here at my computer looking out at the gray skies of December. I'm thinking that Christmas is just a couple of weeks away.
I've watched the Christmas ads on TV, and the seemingly hundreds of ads that come in my mail box. I shake my head, and ask " What's Christmas all about?"
What if there were no gifts to buy and give? Would it still be Christmas?
Then I ponder the question, when did the meaning of Christmas get all jumbled up and lost under the tinsel; buried beneath wrapping paper and boxes?
When did the real meaning of Christmas become overshadowed by all the bling, bling? And are we any more at peace? Do we feel more kindness and love towards one another after the gifts are opened?
The real gifts are, the ones when we give of ourselves. The kind word, or deed.
Being peace makers in our family, and in our neighborhoods. These are lasting and remembered long after the tree is tucked away for another year, long after the wrappings are disgarded.
So, this year let's remember, and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas--- It's priceless.
Blessings to all,
Mystic Silks
